Get your Pistols out

Post by TYREMAN »

I was wondering if anyone here owns? or has previously owned a manual Mopar 8-) ? and if you have? got anypics? it does not need to be a pistol grip but any 3 or 4 speed manual.

And does anyone know why Abodys did not get the Pistol Grip shifter? am i right to think that the Pistol Grip was a B and E body thing only? there are some cool 4Speed ABodys but they all seem to have standard type Hurst shifters rather than the Pistol Shifter.

Here is a pic to start you off,its Simons car so he can give you the info and better pics.

A 4 Speed is the best thing to go with a 6 Barrel Budge ;) heard they behave a lot better than an Auto, better suited to a six pac

Yea, I've had a few. Fourmula S barracuda was the only original 4 speed car I ever owned, the rest I converted myself. Never a fan of pistol grips, vertical gate shifters were my weapon of choice. Barracuda had a Mr Gasket Hurst copy shifter in it behind a hot 273.

Had an 18 spline hemi box in the Duster with a Mr gasket vertical gate shifter and a lakewood shield behind a tunnel rammed 383.

I originally built the Dart with a 4 speed, It was the same trans I had in the Barracuda all those years previously, used a Lakewood scatter shield and a Hurst vertical gate this time, behind a 340TA motor.
