My old man used to operate one of them Caterpillar D8's. I used to go to work with him during the school holiday's and He often let me play on it. That and a International TD20 with winch and pulley's (pre hydrolic). Have some old ciny footage of me trecking up the hill in the D8 pullin' a scraper. I was about 11 0r 12 years old at the time. We levelled out a picnic area at the side of Hollingworth Lake in Rochdale. Used to be a victorian tip. Me an' our kid spent the summer holiday's finding old bottles, the one's with the marble stopper's. We used to go home every night with the boot on mi dads Cortina 1600E full of 'em. And old ginger beer bottles. Evan news papers 100 years old. I'm ramblin' again arnt I  ... I shut up now. :)

Wonder if he's finished his house or still living in that caravan?

To save me trying to find my dvd, which I've probably lent to someone I can't remember, what was the band called ???-it's really annoying me -damned old age.

The band in Vanishing Point Richard? That was Delaney & Bonnie and Friends doing the quasi-church revivalist thing.

But Kim Carnes is in the soundtrack too along with one of my all time fav tracks by Mountain called Mississipi Queen which I have as my mobile phone ringtone. :thumbright:

For the C-body fans thats a '68 Polara in the shot with the Caterpillar. I had a convertible version for a few years back in the 90's.

For the eagle-eyed the 68 Polara was the car used to bring Steve McQueen back to the police station after he had the chase with the Charger in Bullitt. Must have been on screen for all of 5 seconds.

I have the Vanishing Point soundtrack album somewhere.

I seem to remember liking the Jerry Reed song.

I have the same UK release album somewhere too.

The album cover design was slightly different from country to country.
