kev73dart wrote:Love this thread, I worked for Bentley up in Crewe for about 2 and a half years. It was a cool place, 6.75 litre twin turbo's burbling all over the place and quite a few mean one off's as well. The best for me was a 2 door coupe with roll cage & side exit exhausts - that thing is evil and is still lurking the grounds somewhere.
There was also an Audi A4 with big wheels and a huge bonnet scoop, it is rumoured to have the W12 twin turbo lump in it.
Bentley's are truly awesome!!

here you go kev, same car as mine, but with special bits, ;) cost the guy 400 large

So why would 'Carlos' specify them god awful yellow fans behind the grille, and that silly white disc on the doors for a racing number?

Being able to see the fans behind the grille really cheapen the car, and why anyone would want to race it (hence white disc) I do not know. Trying to race that would be like trying to get Dawn French through a slalom course on a skateboard. :?

I bet it cost a small fortune, but it doesnt look special enough for me.

Sorry chaps

its supposed to be a one off for Bananarama! sake, anythin that ever is has bits on that some people dont like,

I'd have Dunc's Bentley Conti over any of the similar so called comparatively late model super cars...even the Vanquish or the M6 doesn't have the presence or style of the Bentley, in my opinion.

It has style, class and having had the privelage of driving a new one some years ago, I reckon, a well driven one would be one of the fastest A to B cars on the road, unless the roads were very narrow, because on the country lanes around here, there would be no room for anything else...learnt that with the Road Runner! ;)
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Post by RayC »

thats a late 97 model bri 400 hp 590 torque red badge with the added bonus off the mesh just above the bumper,
the 98 model had 420 horse 650 torque and became a black badge car limited slip and bigger brakes better seats, better shifter but externally the same

Great picture Dunc - thats how it should look. You can't top it for style and agressiveness nomatter how much more is paid for the special treatment. I remember a Conti being tested on TG by Clarkson. The one tested did 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds. I couldnt believe it. Thats a hell of a lot of car to get performance like that from, and it was supposed to handle too.

i have not seen that clivey, i thought if clarkson roadtested one he would have slated it, after all he has tested some pure racecars and would prob try to say the conti is a big lumbering barge, which to a supercar it is, went the gym in mine last nite then a blast out in the country for an hour, came off a roundabout and gunned it 130 no sweat then run it a bit hard on open twisting roads and yes it does handle ok for 2.5 ton,
i know they arnt everyones bag, but i love it to bits, thought i might regret spending the amount off money it cost but i havent the buzz factor well outweighs the fact we now live in a tent, :D
