Disconnecting inhibitor switch?

Disconnecting inhibitor switch?

How is this disconnected for transmission removal? The plastic plug iwhich holds the wiring is loose to turn, but i'm loathe to pull it off if there is some sort of twist and remove knack required.

It pulls off but they harden over time.
