t727 dipstick and correct fluid level

Post by Anonymous »

help have rebuilt trans and now can to fill it upand questioning the trans dipstick I have

its a plastic type with wires i think that should show a low fluid level., its from a 1976 trans and is behind a sb 360.

should i have a plastic type dipstick or a metal one like the oil level one?

the tube is definitly origional and fits perfick on the box and lines up with moutning hole on bellhousing

if the plastic type is wrong then how long should the dipstick be for correct flid level

or

hoe far down the dipstick tube with a piece of wire will show correct fluid level ?

he tube is about 12" long

bit odd question but i gots to know

I had one of these on my van , it had a warning light on the dash . it should have level marks on it the same as a normal dip stick, from memory it should have 2 ringd molded into it , this is the upper and lower level.
