Yeah, shame about the rot but better to find it all and cut it out. One of the previous owners has just layered on the filler to hide everything, even just little dents that could have been easily tapped out.
A bit of work with Daves grinder and welder and all the bad bits will be gone. Now as long as Jim's Auto Parts doesn't screw up my order for my new panels http://www.moparuk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19630 everything should be ok body workwise anyway. Got a grille coming soon too.

Looking good mate
Gees I wish I'd had such a solid body to work with when I did mine
Any time frame in mind with this ?
Looks like it's speeding along, and you're collecting alot of new parts too by the looks of it

Cheers Jules,
My body/paint guy is away in California until mid May doing work (showing the Yanks how to work with metal instead of filler) so the bodywork is on hold until then.
My engine is stripped to bits and I am going to see the bloke who's doing that for me tomorrow, his name is Eric Woodall. So hopefully he will have some advice, prices and parts lists for me. From the sounds of it I'm going to need a new crank and the standard: valves, rods, lifter etc... but it's all going to plan so far. Will get pics tomorrow if I can.
Parts of my grille have started showing up at my friends place in New Jersey so more should be arriving soon and then he's going to ship it all over to me along with new front and rear valance panels from http://www.jacksautoparts.com/index.html . Mirrors and other sundries coming from http://www.mopar9999.com/fcstore2008/shop/default.aspx and a new steering wheel from http://www.coloradocustom.com/ProductDe ... 8&DivCat=3
Then new brake disc conversion kits all round, a few new suspension bits and then Crager Black Window wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tyres.
Paint will be a one off custom dark blue mixed by Dave Potts my paint/body guy. Then that'll be about it.
Time wise I'd love it to be ready for the Nats but it depends how long stuff takes to get here from the States so Dave isn't twiddling his thumbs. Also I need to sell the van to help finance the Charger which is tough as I have my wedding to pay for in June. Every time I sign a cheque for suits hire and wedding cake I just think - 'There goes my disc brake kits.'

Rich, ask on the board about the disc conversions mate.
If you're talking about the rears, then I believe there are 1 or 2 people that did that conversion who wish they hadn't bothered. ( more meat on drums for park brake )
Weigh up the pro's and con's fella.
Might save ya abit of dosh for the top hat and tails

To be continued...
I just got my first bill for my engine work and now I can't really make a move until I sell my van: http://www.moparuk.com/forums/viewtopic ... highlight=
Hopefully some work is on it's way over the next few weeks and then I can order more stuff. Couldn't get pictures of my engine as it was away on it's holidays getting valve seats reground and such. I will post pictures when i have something to show. Until then, tell your friends there's a van for sale!
