Dave Madders regularly ships containers from LA - very good to deal with.

Hi folks,

Normally use Calship.com meself.

Been very good up till now, but they're getting pricy???

Whats the rates for your guys???

$350 for one cubic metre crate and $1400 for a Car/van.

Hi Clivey,

Thats funny you should ask that particular question, as I was asked it last week in LA?

I assume if the crate/box can be lifted by the forklift truck at the Docks, you are good to go???

I would suspect its gonna be around a 1000lbs.

If its gold bullion you got, only half fill the crate methinks!

There's always a £150 landing/unloading fee, plus Duty/VAT.
Anything shipped with less than $2500 value doesn't need a declaration certificate, just proof of purchase for customs in the UK. etc, etc, etc!!!

I only ask as I flew a crate over with a 440 in it. Just wondered if there was an official upper limit. :thumbright:

Even $3400 is cheap!!! I paid $5600 for a 40ft and that was 1/2 the price of some quotes from well known shipping companies.
