Brooklands Today

Post by newport100 »

Woke up well early today and looked out the window- it was lashing it down- Sposed to meet the Herts / Beds Lads at 8.30- but bailed out

Gave it another couple of hours- then got a text from Robtwin saying it was dry and almost sunny at Broooklands- wasnt sure if he was pulling my leg but it was about 10.30 by then and the missus was making noises about us going shopping

Quickly grabbed my keys and my son Ben and set of in pouring rain for a right miserable drive to Brooky-

Expecting about 10 cars max- I was gobsmacked to see the main Mopar area full as usual and a good amount of other cars elsewhere- PLUS the sun WAS out and the rain was gone!!

Really glad I went - nice to catch up with people - got the car upon the banked track for some photies etc -

Some great cars there and must agree with the other posts on that Black Charger- a great aquisition for the UK!! :thumbright:

Hers some piccies

Nice pics Mark, and nice to see the Challenger today. I am also glad you caught this great moment in music history where I'm talking to one of my all time favourite drummers for half an hour about his collection of classic limos and 69 Imperial and didn't even recognise him! Conversation went something like this....
Me - "so would you fancy me popping round to do some shots for ACW?"
Him - "Great, love to."
Me - What's yer name and number?"
Him - "Mark Brzezicki......"
Me - "Bananarama! Hell!"
I was a Big Country fan back in the day and spent ages trying to play like the Mark chap, even bought a white Pearl kit because he had one. he's also the chap who played on the Cult's 'She sells sanctuary'....wow, isn't life strange.. one day yer drumming along to Big Country records next thing yer photographing his car and chin wagging at Brooklands!

True Mark, he was/is a top session guy and hell of a player. MAny records went out with him on drums and not a lot of people realised who was banging them tubs

Didn't notice till Rob pointed out that the beepers were parked up in chronological order 69-70-71
Jim's 71 has got to be my fave Mopar at the moment....sex on wheels Jim, we need to get busy with the camera :thumbright:
