No not new, I've done it many times and had a blast too. They take the A roads to Margate and there's a car show at the end.
If you are clever you'll hang back at the start to cruise down with the other Yanks.
Look out for the Left Hookers, I think some of them do this.

You can enter on the day, it's donations and all for charity, a fiver was the norm.

run starts at 10 am you have to register first £5 so get to the dock yard early
