Its all about the pressure used.
There is alot of difference between 100psi (hobby compressor) and 150/200psi that commercial companies use.
Obviously the type of material used has a big affect also!
Its all about what the person (doing the job) normally blasts.
If its cast iron restoration, say in a Shipyard, he/she ain't gonna be gentle doing a six foot square of 1mm Detroit Steel.
I've seen the results of good and bad blasting from the same equipment, done by different people and its amazing to see the difference.
Its a gutty job and good blasters are few and far between!
