Couldn't agree more Clivey, it seems the racers are a lot more up for it on the board and the resto guys may feel that they'll get stick for being rivet counters, when nothing could be further from the truth.
To see an accurate resto of a genuine GTX will be something to behold, whatever help or info you need Shaun, you'll find it here.
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.
Before Steve owned the GTX it was owned by George Chiles, it was red originaly, i have pics of it somewhere, then George had it painted silver and called the car eliminator, i will have pics of it like that too, i remember George telling me recently it was badly rotten 20 years ago when he had it, so good on you for bringing it back to life

Thanks for the info Marc, it would be good to see those photo's. I can see the different colours showing through the front corners. I'm thinking of putting it back to red but a darker shade than it had before.
I'll be sure to keep you all updated with plenty of piccies, 1st job is to get the motor running to check it's condition, which will be done this weekend as I'm waiting on some leads to arrive. Then she's being totally stripped & shot blasted. Then the real fun begins!
Welcome Shaun, good on you for taking it on, nice to have one resurected from the grave. Sure its gonna bring you a lot of fun and grief, but it will be worth it, its a GTX afterall and will be well worth the effort to bring it back. Good luck.
Thanks bruvmopar & Rob Twin for the photos, boy does it look different now.....a lot more holes in it now! I've got a funny feeling when I get it back from blasting the guy will just hand me a matchbox containing the use-able bits!
