Still working on the idle & slowly making progress, spent most of Saturday, filing & fettling with the butterflies. Average clearance between the butterfly & housing is now 0.002"/0.003"

Also think I might have been drwaing in air, so fettled the bottom of injector scoop, liberal dose of silicon sealer & seems to be OK now.

When I come back gonna try taking some fuel out of the idle range, if that dont work will start playing taking out some timing. Been a little bit reluctant to take timing out as motor really likes timing & seems to smooth things out a bit Still learning

Blue, thanks for posting the photo.

Thought would give a brief update, as been a couple of weeks since the last time.
I was meant to be in Poland since Tuesday, but got a reprieve, so not back again till next Monday. Gives me a few extra nights on the car & at least I can make the Nostalgia Drags :thumbright: even if I am without the car :(

The small jobs seem to be taking an eternity, but gradually whittling em down, one by one.

Removed the old door guttering/trim,as I colour coded it, many moons ago. Managed to get a set of eBay for only $149, took a few hours to clean up & might even get my mate to give a quick polish. Just temporary fitting, they look miles better.
I know, I know, why did I paint the originals, seemed like a good idea at the time :D

Finished making the the new Poly carbonate windows, with the exception of the rear quarter lights or what ever their called. The front & Rear screen & door windows are now trial fitted & just need to be be removed for painting the black borders. I must admit, it was pretty tedious task. Roughing out with jigsaw, then grinding to size & bevel ling the edges for the front & rear screen. Garage looked like Blizzard beach after a few days.

Collected new prop this week, as upgraded to larger diameter chrome moly unit, with larger 1350 Spicer/UJ's & been waiting for balancing. All was well, except was an 1 3/8" too long
No real big deal, as can be shortened, just another pain & waste of time collecting, returning, waiting again then collecting & fitting :P

For some inexplicable reason to me, my rad has decided to spring more leaks than a pepper pot. I had been contemplating the possible upgrade of rad, but not this quick. The last rad, I bought the core & fabricated the end tanks & my mate welded all up for me. I just don't have the time to do that again this time, so had to order new rad.
Custom ally rads are not cheap, well not the ones in my size  Trying a 3" core this time, hopefully will aid in keeping motor cool.

Also picked up new Harness for passenger seat this week, to please the MOT man, well OK my mate :D

Had to fit new Trans brake switch, as the other one decided to retire early. Should of been a quick job, but couldn't get the same size, so ended up re drilling my modified nitro helmet shifter (Not in keeping with the car style, but I love it)

Still pushing to make the Nats, just a mater of weather I drive there or trailer. A large portion of this decision, will be down to the DVLA. All being well, should have a decision in a couple of weeks. I have no idea if I will keep existing reg or if I will be issued a new one. (50/50 chance [-o< )

Either way, I will be glad once they have finally made a bloody decision. All they ever normally say is, we are working on it & you have to be patient :P

Once the new rad is in, will start to have another play with the tick over. Pretty sure I am going to reduce AF Ratio & if still not better, pull some timing out at the lower RPM. At least its a lot easier to do on the laptop :thumbright:

For the 1st time in 20 plus years, the Mrs has given me a birthday present related to the car & its 4 months early :D So will be looking to get the car painted after the Nats. So need to have serious think about what colour.
Contemplating Black with Black bill boards or maybe Plum Crazy with Black bill boards. Any suggestions ?

Fingers crossed & everything goes to plan, looking to take it for its MOT on the 19th July.

Home PC is down at the moment & my work laptop seems temperamental, so no photos at the moment.
