Confusing timing slips

Post by Anonymous »

Have'nt reached me goal yet , but chip chip chipping away @ it. :D

Can't get me head round the MPH difference in the slips. :?

1st run

1.807 60 ft

11.559 et @ 121.90 MPH.

2nd run

1.694 60 ft

11.684 et @ 106 MPH. :?

Pit ran like a raped ape on the second run , falling on it's face 3/4 track , forgot to flick the overdrive unit on , so hitting the limiter @ 6500 RPM. :banghead: :banghead:

Was some feeling that 4300lb barge 60 footing. :D

Any thoughts on the weird MPH.?

1st run

1.807 60 ft

11.559 et @ 121.90 MPH.

2nd run

1.6.94 60 ft

11.684 et @ 106 MPH. :?

adam 106 must be a mistake for the 11.5 & the 11.6 being similar times the same car must run similar mph ie 118-123 definatilty no lower than 116
my runner always does 11.6 @ 117 so no way were only doing 106- thats 12's+ time

if your mtr makes big power you can easy run that time with the low mph, my chally used to run 11,50,s circa 119 mph, but would still run a 11.7 at 105 if i got off it at the top end

When you hit the rev limiter did you back off or coast for a distance?

You have to remember that your mph is calculated from the time it takes between two points 66ft apart (33ft either side of the finish line). So unless you were "on it" for 33ft past the finish line your mph will not work out right.

Come on Adam where are the times for Shakey last weekend?
we need them posted for info :read2:

BTW I heard that Naughty Al Had taken the Devil over to the Pit's lair as the Drugs were not working and it was suspected that the fuel pressure cut off switch was to high and Adam had offered to sort out.
So cruised over to bloody my nose and it seemed that Big Al had been melting wires again and the fuel cut off switch was OK at 3 Psi.
So after a rewire to the controls every thing seemed to be working and we set off for a road test agreeing to meet at the pub, me following Big Al and Adam in the Devil with a full bottle of gas in the boot, now this was going to be fun in Barnet High street.
Also Alan was relying on Adam to switch the NOS off when it got a bit lary.
I realised there was no way I was going to keep up in my lardy Landy so waited at the pub for the boy's to return.
Now I must admit to having a few dark thoughts as I supped me shandy waiting for them to return but after five minuets the noise told me all was well and the devil rolled up in one piece.
Big al was not speaking to clearly stating he had never felt anything like that before, when is the next RWYB and Adam had a big grin on his face.
What happened I asked did it all work ok?
Oh yes said Adam but I forgot to switch it off and Alan has it sideways in each gear up the high street.
After a few beers we decided to in the interest of safety to other road users to confiscate the bottle out of Al's boot.
So its still on for the Nats Pit verses the Devil oh yes bring it on.
