I'm going BIG block......

Post by Dart Vader »

Think I may have succumbed to the BIG side

Bought a 440 hp with 906 heads last night, freshened by Bacacuda apparently but some time ago

Motor is on original bore and came from an Interceptor.

Anyone got the official tick sheet of what I need to buy to "drop it" into my dart.

Thanks

Hiya

car not stripped, not needed, come and see it at the Nats

I've got a spare 318 as well, and another 440 block...oh and a 350 chevy 4 bolt main as well.

440hp was too good a chance to pass up, just want to know just how big an undertaking it is to put in the dart

Big block swap is not too bad, you'll need,

Big block 727 (got one)

K frame (Bananaskin has one)

Engine mounts (Think I have them)

Prop (got that too)

Headers, fenderwell or tti

Big ally rad.

That's the basics to get it in the car. First time you put your foot down you'll find you need to replace that broken 7 1/4" axle. There is nothing like a big block A body, I love 'em!

Just a quick check - I hadnt planned to do the rad immediately when we do the 440 swap into the Charger. Is it mandatory with a non-race app ?

Big engine - small compartment, higher output than stock, header pipes glowing in the dark.

Yes. You need a good cooling system. ;)

big rad is not mandatory Morgan, just ask Dave Two lanes, correct timing is and glowing headers have NOTHING to do with cooling.
Yes you can bandaid incorrect timing with a BIG ally rad and i'll sell you one no problem.... Cost £200 +
Distributor recurved... Cost... varies depending on what you already have but £100 is max if you have points now, peanuts if you have electronic, when you're ready i'll do the same as I usually do... if the recurve doesn't do it you don't pay for it and i'll put it back to how it was AND pay all the postage AND i'll give you a rad for nowt.

Glowing headers..... some people just don't get it and never will.

By their very nature headers give off a lot of heat. It makes the underhood temp very high.

Just ignore what Neil says. He is just getting at me because I suggested people should check he has stuff in stock.

Did Nick ever get his shock absorbers his father ordered for him last November? I know he was still waiting at Easter.
Did Tim ever get his steering box? No I think he gave up and got one next day delivery from Hausers. I had a hell of a job talking him out of coming down with his scrap yard mates to pay you a visit.

And that is just two examples. I know many people that have just given up.

I have put people your way Neil. Tried to help you out a bit. I don't have to. It's not my fault if you keep letting them down. You seem to give excellent service to one or two people. They are allowed to say on here how good your service is. However the unhappy customers don't get a chance to voice their concerns. Or at least feel embarrased to say anything.

Push my buttons though and it is a different matter.

Yes he did

Yes he did and "you think aint good enough"
I only ship steering boxes now for MMA members, I don't sell them at all, saves members good $$

You know.... you nearly won the other day but after speaking to a much wiser man than me this morning that will never happen.

Simple deal here.... put your ££ where your mouth is like i've just done with Morgans 440, if you aint going to do that then shut up... as they say "put up or shut up"
Balls in your court and for the record you aint seen button pushing YET

you were out of order the other day end of, like you are most of the time

Dave, Neil, please do not continue with this debate in this forum. I've left the two posts up as it has allowed you both to have your say but all further debate MUST be continued via PM, email or phone. This includes anybody else who wants to get involved in this debate.

First of all this is hi-jacking the thread and secondly it's contravening MB guidelines as such matters are not to be aired publicaly.

If any more posts are made along these lines I will delete all of them.

I personally have found you both very helpful and you both make a great contribution to the club, please abide by the above.

Thanks, Martin.
