Dog Dish caps
A full set of these arrived in the post this week. The're from Classic Chambered (www.classicchambered.com/classic/wheels) in the US - look beautiful in the metal.
Yep, steel wheels and caps are the business. I decided to go for a modern paint finish and used one from the paint chip library at JPC's which turned out to be a Fiat colour. I think it is quite close to the B3 blue but perhaps a little warmer. It's a bit difficult to tell as the original paint was nearly 40 years old and may have changed over the years having sat in the California sun for so long. Whatever, I am very pleased with the colour and I think it suits the car very well.
50$ cheaper than Year One and asides from £18 for postage that's exactly what I paid. At £1 = $2.06 and considering the quality of the caps I think it's ok. I was quoted about half that from several places for second hand ones for a daily driver - ie not perfect. After putting the body right and having a brand new (and beautiful) paint job then skimping on these didn't make any sense.
When you get down to it, it really depends on whether steel plus caps or alloy, rallye's etc. to fit in with the look you want to achieve.
