What was the correct fuel cap for a 1970 Challenger?

The one that I left at The BP station in Redbourn last Sunday- now replaced with a soggy rag!

from a restoration guide I have:

"Two different caps were used: the flush-fitting cap that was painted the same color as the body and the flip-top chrome cap, part number 3549089, with the word "Fuel" imprinted on the cap."

The copies of the flip-top one you can get aren't all that IMO, plus you have to also buy an additional locking, sealing cap that sits underneath it unless you like being in petrol stations.

This is the flush fitting cap. Some were body colour, some were chrome that might have been a year thing (this is a 71)

The filler necks differ from year to year (caps not all interchangeable)
Flip top cap was an option, came with locking inner

I currently have fitted

A Flush-fitting cap that was painted the same color as the body.

I guess this is correct then, just wondering as my dad has a flip top one on his 72'.

70/71 were the only years the flip top was offered from the factory. Plenty been fitted since, mind!
