Washer bottle wiring - Valiant Charger

if the motor has 1 wire constant 12v

then the other wire goes back to the switch and is earthed to the body when you press the switch in

i.e if you take out the switch you want the connector on it that is short circuited to the case of the switch when you push in the knob

i can't remeber if you are supposed to have a live at the bottle all the time

however tis a perfectly legit way to wire it in if you want.

is yours a combined switch

1 click useless wipers 2 click useless wipers 3rd click satisfactory

push in the button for a dripple of washer bottle ooozings

Mine is a 2 click and push
think VJ got 3 click and push

switch is the same switch for both just has a metal bit missing for the 3rd click satisfactory wipeing position. Its factory-missing on mine.

if not then i'm a bit lost

switch should have a copper collar on it that hangs round the mounting thread and connects down the back of the switch. thats your earth..

may have a VJ wires diagaram will have a dig. it could have been put in safe place.

sounds like its working then

and you have the orginal standard switch

switch labelled HPLW

motor on wipers labled HPL

wire from H to H is yellow
wire from P to P is red
wire from L to L is Dark Green

Dk blue wire to wiper motor is 12 v + from fuse box

1 earth from motor

1 pink wire from motor to washer bottle via a 8 way plastic connector
1 orange wire to washer bottle from the switch contact marked w goes through oposite end of 8 way plastic connector

so leccy into whole system comes from the blue wire to the wiper motor and is distributed to the washer bottle by pink or ornage depending on which other whiper motor contacts are live.

i.e it may get back to the switch via a wiper motor wire and be snt across the switch to the washer bottle.
