Botherations and Breakdown

Post by Dart Vader »

8.30pm last night, Dart cuts out just off the motorway
9.40pm AA supposed to turn up
10.45pm AA actually turned up
10.50pm AA notices my dizzy is in pieces, of course he cannot fix it
10.55pm AA man calls for flatbed truck
11.45pm Flatbed man turns up and I'm loaded
12.45am I am delivered to Calne where the car will be on holiday
1.00am After jiggery pokery the car is in driveway at in-laws
2.00am Eventually home, knackered and not happy
6.00am Up for work

Next stop fit that eletronic dizzy I've had for a year....lesson learnt

Thank god I wasn't on way to a show.

Is Phil440's luck now spreading through the Swindon posse???

Hey Justin,
I know how you feel mate, I had trouble all the way to the Nats in my challenger, Robbo headed a posse of lads to help me out and he got the car going good, He advised me to switch over from points to an MSD elec system instead, that will be my next spent on the car.

I advised you to swap to electronic ignition Wayne. But I didn't specify MSD.

If you want to keep the car as stock as possible get the Mopar Performance Kit.

If you do that, Wayne, whatever you do........ Don't cut the connector off the dizzy wires... :drwho:

Hey Red

i enjoyed your Nats journey, had to laugh at the fire brigade bit, sorry, but the way you wrote it was class.

A few years ago I had a Corvette (sorry guys), anyway it broke down in Newquay. Rang my breakdown service and out of some little tin pot village in Cornwall a man and van turned up with a bag of spanners.

When he found me he was a bit stumped and said in a great yokle accent " They said it was a chevette..... not a corvette". His face was a picture, fair play though, the little cornishman got it going !!

Had that one years,

I also had one of a guy I used to work with in Afghanistan getting shot. He lived but you saw his arm come off. We were filming road conditions at the time and a sneaky sniper had him. One of our techies made an avatar out of the footage and he had it as his mobile phone screen saver. He was dead proud that he didn't faint till I picked his arm up off the floor !!

He lost a finger on his other (and now only) hand.
We nicknamed him kit kat after that...you know 4 fingers....

Will try and find it but probably not PC for this forum.
