What an unusual accident,not many people do a pirouete before going jugs up.That may well be a testament to his skills.He has built many a pro car/chassis. And has been racing powerfull cars with short wheelbases for years(and years)

The track at the Bulldog is notouriously treacherous. Bikes with muddy tyres screaming up and down it all day then a couple of powerful cars doing demo runs at lunch etc, with not alot of track prep in between.
Tony stuffed his Altered there in much the same manner years ago.

Yikes! That could have been me at Gary's Picnic if my car was runnning well and that dodgy front tyre of mine let go at the top end of a run (yes - awaiting the "wouldn't have been going fast enough" gags)...
He'll be gutted but good to see him on two feet. There's a HELL of a lot to be said about full safety equipent in these cars.
