MCK,
Ref. your Challenger's steering...
My Challenger has a 'drop' link steering bar, with room to the pan (big block). You may also want to check which way round it's fitted - believe it or not it can be put on the wrong way round (shocking lock to lock!).
I'll try and put up some piccies I took tonight...

Thanks Philth and Phill (
) I didn't know Challengers had a drop link available. There's certainly no aftermarket ones that I've seen. I've now had some steel shims made by a mate with a CNC machine at his work. As per Duncan's advice the motor has been raised a half inch by bedding these shims under the mount plates, and now the straight link clears the steering! Just. For the price of a crate of beer
Also, the guy that built the motor is travelling down to prime and start it to ensure nothing untoward happens. Should be next Saturday with any luck.
The rear leaf springs are to be mounted now on the custom rear eyelets shown in the pic. The turrets are to be ground off, this will lower the car by a few inches. Still won't be stock height though, I'll leave it to settle for a few weeks as in another thread before deciding what to do.
My aim is to have the most un-numbers matching Challenger in the club!

Went up there again today - can't wait to have it out of there so I can work on it myself. Pictures of the whole car as it looks are impossible due to the general clutter in the workshop.
But I did get these few taken showing what's happening. Apparently the engine's going to be running by the bank holiday weekend. A bold claim!
