Aussie cars used the same transmission tunnel
what engine do you have?

Aussie mopar/Borgwarner single rail gearbox and small block bellhousing would fit in all but probably shifter location.

(single rail due to the single shift rod running along the housing to the box) the 3 speed manual, its predecessor didn't have it (again a decent box same 1:1 ratio top and stronger)

you could get castlemain rod shop or dellow automotive (in Oz) to do you a bellhousing with a hole in the correct side for a LHD, they do this kind of thing and compared to over here surprisingly not that expensive

otherwise you would have to make arrangements for the clutch which would be RHD on an aussie bellhousing.

suggest hydraulic could be done easily...thats what the aussie guys fitting US manual boxes do (along with major transmission tunnel hackery at the passenger seat)

I belive the Single rail uses same spline as the 904 and is similar in length when installed with bellhousing to a 727

the single rail box did service behind 6 cylinder mopar in Oz
4.2 liter Leyland P76 version of the Buick/rover v8
and with a slightly different spline and input the ford 351 v8

its a robust (enough) box for the space available
is a Mopar part
came in two versions close ratio....used in P76 and RTs had 1 more roller in each bearing. and standard in everything else manual from 1972 onwards

weakest point is the plastic nut and ball that holds on the shifter. if it busts the shifter comes out in ya hand...not an issue it slots right back in but annoying none the less

Box uses SAE30 oil so in relation to other Mopar manual boxes is quick and light to use.

shafts in box are verticle one above the other so normal techniques for strengthening it up i.e billet top cover etc are not useful

the rebuild kits are about $250 and sychro rings if necessary on top.
ment to be easy enough to rebuild the only gripe is the loose rollers for the bearings. grease and a steady hand needed
any standard signl rail works best with 3.23:1 or 3.5:1 rear gears
the ratios in the box do not suit 2.77:1 or 2.92:1 particularly well.

Aussie Ebay
and trademe in NZ would both be likely sources

otherwise any Aussie mopar specialist will have one

otherwise

a steal case 5 speed Supra Turbo box mated to a castlemain rod shop bellhousing with their mopar clutch kit

would work.

fits in

minor hacking at the cross member

hammer the tunnel gently
