I checked my trans fluid level the other day (engine running) and it appears the fluid is half way up the dipstick. It's difficult to tell as it doesn't give a nice clear reading on the stick, no matter how many times dipped.
Previous checks it has been exactly at the full mark (engine running). I'm a bit worried that something is amiss in the box which causes it to fill (fluid transfer from the stock 'verter?). The car is getting very sluggish to move off in gear when cold/warm (like a high stall) and rolls back when in 1st instead of holding (slope up to my garage), but seems OK when hot.
The box is a reverse pattern, manual shift with a Carlos Fandango dipstick and tube (bulkhead mounted, aluminium handle, grey plastic dipstick, braided tube, etc).
Basically I want to drain the fluid out and simply refill with new, to but I need to know how much (US or UK measurement) I need to put in. It has a deep steel pan.
Cheers.

All symptoms point towards the fluid level being wrong. But as I was Schooled by Blue it could be anything! Line pressures, band adjustment, valve body, servo seals, accumulator rings or the dreaded over running clutch malfunction(
) etc etc. Blue will know
