Radio for 70 B Body

Post by Tim P »

Does anybody have a picture of the radio that would have been fitted to a 70 Satellite or RoadRunner? I have a large hole in the dash right now where the radio should be but I don't know what I should be looking for.

Tim, there are only two styles (with a variety of fequencies). The round black plastic knob type whch yours SHOULD have and the thumbwheel job (vertically rotating knurled chrome wheels).

If I find my one amongst all the boxes I'll put a oic up, but look through some B Bod members cars - it may well help. :thumbright:

There you go, Mr. c beat me to it. Thats the one you need Tim. They are a bit rare, but if you find one with knobs missing, some guy in Mopar Collectors Guide reproduces em. and you can buy them through his Ebay shop. About $25 a pair. :thumbright: :thumbright:

Thanks Jim and Clivey for your help with this question.

I bought a radio at a show earlier this year and it looks very similar to the picture that Jim posted although I haven't got the front piece that covers the radio and matches in with the rest of the dash. I'll have to see if works and have a go fitting it.

Once again, thanks for the info

Plenty of places do the face plate separately Tim. I assume you have the black plastic grained dash????? If so, the world is your lobster. Legendary, year one, Jacks Auto Parts, RT Specialities all do repro's in plastic. If you have the woodgrain aluminium plate dash, and you really want the ally plate replacement then go to PG Classics. Hang on to your wallet though - they aren't cheap. But, they are very very good.

'Bout time we had a few more pics of your car up mate. We haven't seen many since it came out of JPC. Stick some up - its a cracker :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright:
