Vacuum leak. You left a tube off somewhere.

Could it be that you have disterbed a seal between the M/C and the Booster? Not sure why that would stop your motor starting though?

If you have fuel and spark, and the timing has not altered, then it can only be a vac leak making it too lean to start or a bad fuel leak making it too rich..

Usually it would be a BIG vac leak to make the engine not start at all. Like the PCV valve tube come off the carb or something. I doubt a small leak would make enough difference on most Yanks motors to prevent it starting?

It is probably something so obvious you will kick yourself when you spot it. :D

If you didn't have a spark it would be the bulkhead connectors under where you are working or a wire to the ballast resistor. But you sound confident it is not electrical.

That does not sound good. You had better check your carb for leaks.

Leaks like that can stop it starting at all. Or burst into flames like Red Ravens.

Broke Off  For the end of a plug lead just to drop off, they must have deteriorated pretty bad & leads in that condition are sure not going to help get the motor started. At least you have a new set on the way
