4speed/console

Post by RoelB »

I have just fitted the metal/woodgrain insert into the console of my Cuda. For some reason when I shift to 2nd or 4th, the shifter knocks against the metal plate. That was never like it before. Obviously I have tried to move the console as far back as possible, with no success .
Now I am thinking about the position of the 4speed, but that cannot really move from where it should be?. The only differnece I have made is I have fitted a plate from another 4speed, that connects the shifter to the linkage. ( could not find the one I had that came with the box)
Any ideas please?? I am sure I have done something obviously stupid
O, box shifts fine, I have done about 120 miles running ite engin in, no problems
Thanks!!

Sounds like you have fitted the wrong shifter mounting plate.

Thanks Mick, I was not sure if there was a difference between 4speed shifter plates. Appreciate the website you have sent :thumbright:
