727?

I saw a chrysler auto gearbox yesterday that looked like a 727 but had a cable coming out of it under the kick down lever.anyone know what it is?/year? etc. its fitted to a 383 engine

Could it not have been an aftermarket shifter fitted to it? Most of those are cable operated.

Hi Dave definatly not after market there is a large hole in the casing where the cable comes out that is part of the casing from new. could it be from a 60s or earlier car as i have just seen a box with this cable fitted in a cv8 jensen

found it,its a pre 1965 A727 big block trans

I was wondering if the old push button autos were cable operated? I guess they would have been.
