summit brake servo, 70 charger
Has anyone fitted the summit brake conversion kit, spindles discs etc all went on fine but the servo is a pain, have to redrill the pedal and is hard to get at, couldnt seem to be able to remove it easily but the servo push rod seems too long and is pushing through too far when mounted, do you have to modify the pushrod going in or is it supposed to be like this? very tempted to just try get hold of a stock servo and stop all the hassle, its a remote type servo on a bracket with a linkage.
Bell crank assy? its a man to power kit, comes with what they say is all thats needed? there's a new linkage for the pedal to servo (mount to fire wall and mount servo to bracket)
The pushrod is adjustable but fully adjusted in is still too long, doesnt let servo to cyl rod fully retract and is keeping pressure on the servo too!
Bloody drama!
if it were mine i'd have the drums back or just stick a big manual cylinder on there! would look a site nicer too!
i'll try get some pics up later, maybe someone has done one.

OK. Well I don't know how this kit is supposed to work. But on Mopars you have two different set-ups for manual and servo brakes.
On manual brakes the pushrod is connected to the brake pedal and directly acts on the master cylinder which is mounted on the 4 lower points from the six available on the bulkhead.
Servo brakes (the stock set up) there is a bell crank assembly that reduces the leverage to the servo. Basically the bit on the brake pedal is not in direct action onto the servo/master cylinder.
The bell crank lever means that the servo and master cylinder have to be mounted higher up on the bulkhead (the 4 higher points of the six provided there).
If you expect ANYTHING made for Mopars in the USA to actually fit without at least SOME modifications and head scratching/swearing then you are an extreme optimist.
