M.O.T. Regs-Tyres

Post by Scooby »

My motor is due for its MOT soon and I presently have Hoozies quick time on there.
275/60/15 ( Road & Drag tyres.) ( D.O.T approved.)

So will these be all right to pass the mot. Cant seem to find anything on the mot regs to say otherwise. I know the depths and width regulations in respect to how much tread.
Has anyone on here had a failure due to having these types of tyres on their motor.
Thanks in advance......
Richard.

If tyres have sufficient tread, you should be OK, better if you have same combination all round, as opposed to cross ply & radial mix

The ones I bought a few years ago weren't EU approved, I don't know if the new ones are any different but if not, technically they aren't legal on the road in the UK (I believe). Matt would be able to confirm, PM him.

How well do you know the tester?

Steve.
Nothing said about the tyres...maybe i was just fussing to much...as I said the guy I take the car to does go by the rules.

Although I could'nt find anything to say they would fail the MOT,they are after all drag tyres.
Still result..passed. Can put the motor away for the winter now.

Cheers.
