Post by Anonymous »

So the thing is do i keep it all or should i keep the hubs or throw the lot :-k :? I do want a disc set up but is it wourth useing old or just get new. and if new has anyone got any information on what one's to get  :thumbright:

If they have smaller studs they are probably pre '73 A body, is the stud pattern smaller as well? That would confirm it. Any Mopar disc brake parts especially A body are not that easy to come by so you definitely shouldn't be throwing them away...

 Thank you blue ;) they are the same size as a B BODY it's just the stud size where it go's in to the hub  the knurl on the end is smaller. But i will chuck them and get a new kit :thumbright: any thoughts on what kit or where to get it ;)

84-94 lancruiser and hilux 4 pot callipers will bolt up to A body disk spindles if you use the original mount bolts and sleave the mount hole with 10mm copper pipe. i.e a brake system designed to stop 2 tonnes of fully loaded landcruiser. :thumbright:

for vented disk use they need a minor grind in the slot and 3mm off the radius of the disk i.e 6 off the diameter. must use 15 inch wheels.

you will need imperial to metric brake pipes. and some pads will need to bits that make them squeel when worn out ground off (easy)

i aint done it yet but have seen write ups for aussie abody and 68 dart

Cass Eslick (Dr Diff) is a good guy, good reputation, regular on Moparts. I would happily do business with him, assuming his prices are in the ballpark which I believe they usually are.

Personally would not bother with the rear discs - more show than go (or stop in this case ), far better uses of $$
