Photo Shop help

Post by Anonymous »

Hi folks.

Had to buy a new computer this week, old one lost the will to live!

On my old computer, I had Ulead Photo express 5.0 for doing any photo editing. But I'm now on windows vista (was on XP).

So I'm looking for a photo/video editing and dvd player download.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Cheers John.

Sorry Woody, I'm with Jeff and the rest of the Mac users, so I should have been a bit more constructive.

Everyone I know with a PC has junked Vista and "upgraded" to XP and glad they did.

Vista is the latest version of windows. But it is still early days in some respects.

The main reason most people hate Vista (old people like Ivors mates) is that they find it difficult to work the same way that they did in XP. They get frustrated because things are not where they were before. So many change back to XP.

I was the same. Hated Vista. But have been using it for several months at work now and am quite used to it. In fact I am finding it difficult to remember why I didn't like it at first.

Most programs that worked in XP should also work OK in Vista. So any software you used before should work now.

If you want a basic photo editing tool (crop/resize/rotate etc) use Irfanview (free download from Tucows) but it is not as sophisticated as Photoshop but it does the basics.

far from it for me to be encouraging bad things

but if you download Ares

just search google for it suggest you get it from sourceforge they are trustworthy enough not to fill it with viruses and adverts

install it then search for what you want once its installed...you will probably find what you want....but remember to pay whats due for what you find and life will be well....it is amazing what you can find if you really want it :)

ulead photo whatsit usually comes free with a scanner anyway so you may well find it in the bargain bin of CDs at your local computer exchange

DVD well the media player that comes as part of this

Kicks pixelated ass

Windows Vista includes an array of “features” that you don't want.

These features will make your computer less reliable and less secure. They'll make your computer less stable and run slower. They will cause technical support problems.

They may even require you to upgrade some of your peripheral hardware and existing software. And these features won't do anything useful. In fact, they're working against you. They're digital rights management (DRM) features built into Vista at the behest of the entertainment industry—And you don't get to refuse them.

I've no axe to grind as I'm a Mac user, but my PC mates reckon it's pants.

Sorry Nick! ;)

Vista was the one to go with when it came out MICRO SOFT said that it would link and up date with all XP and VISTA computers in the office and at home [-( :smash: It never did what they said it would  And it has been put in the corner by a lot of people :(
