Just worked out what the Royal Enfield I had was. It was a 1965 21 bhp GT Continental, with GRP tank, 5 speed gearbox, clip-on handlebars and rearset footrests. Mine had a Yamaha seat fitted for some reason. I might have been mistaken about it having a unit engine.
I bought it off a guy (for £35 - about 1.5 weeks wages at the time) and after playing about around the streets with it the clutch cable snapped. Then a guy who knew the previous owner came to see me and said he had always wanted it so could he buy it? He offered me £80 which I thought was a good profit so agreed.
That guy fixed the clutch cable and sold the bike on for £500.

tl 1ooo s highly tuned, mad bike but to modern for me,it was my last bike to sell but still have two present bikes another 1984 efe 1100 streetfighter and a 1992 gsxr 11oom streetfighter.
just got rid of this earlier this year, very nice bike to ride, tonnes of power, liked lifting the front wheel! 885 triple injected, wanted one for ages, and wanted that colour, took a while to find it, not too many over here. dont really like the 955 as much they made it look a little bland in comparison!

That is the fella! Thanks Mo!
Selling it was one of those times where I quickly regretted doing something. It would have made an ideal bike to pass my test on instead of buying 350cc bikes that were completely illegal to ride.
I had one of those Pete, plus a couple of 350 Bultaco Sherpas. A 68 with a Sammy Miller tank/seat and a late (84 I think) Sherpa. The later bike was one of the last they made and had bits from everything in it, it had a Pursang piston and went really well. It had been used for the SSDT and I made it road legal. It was a laugh on the road.

iym up for it ray would be a fun day,
Tell you what guys, I'd take a trip up. Cadwell Park is a favourite if you like tight and twisty technical type of stuff. Donington is fast and flowing. Whatever, could be a fun day out.
If any of you wanted a bit of tuition, I could bring my bike to bike radios and help out. It's a different ball game to driving round a track.
