If anyone wants to see the effect of a GV unit on their rpm and speed I made this calculator (requires Microsoft Excel) just for the 727 and GV unit combo.

http://www.challenger440.pwp.blueyonder ... Echart.xls

The rear gears and tire sizes already entered are my own with the 10x28 slicks. Just replace those with your own details but you can only enter metric tyre sizes.

What oil is everyone using in these overdrives? The manual is confusing, at one point it says Dexron ATF and another 80W90 gear oil with some part numbers. There's also a sticker on the front cover with some different 80W90 part numbers. Also, how much oil do they hold?

I just use the same trans fluid in the GV that I use in the 727. Which is whatever trans fluid I can get.

And, I love it, great fun to drive, nearly knocks the steering wheel out of your hands when it engages. Wiring was in a mess on the passenger floor so I got it back in the garage and tidied it all up. Just need to fit the overdrive on/off switch. The shifter would be the best place but don't know how I am going to do it.
