What's the collective noun for Satellites? Whatever it is, could be quite a few of us there, or at Brooklands, or at Billing, or at the Nats.....

Well, after going bang in august 2007 the Satellite sat on my drive slowly collecting dirt and looking derelict. It took a while to get done due to other commitments (baby), financial difficulties (baby) and a US based supplier mucking me about and ripping me off, but I eventually got there (at one point I thought I would have to get rid

). The Fuel pump developed a hole in the diaphragm and it pumped the crank case full of petrol, sadly I didn't know this until it made some horrible noises and lost all oil pressure (which was never one of its strong points to start with). At this point my son was only 6 weeks old so the car got parked up and left as I wanted to spend as much time as I could helping Jo. Eventually my mate Karl came round and helped me remove the dead lump and I stripped it on my drive to inspect, and it had pretty much eaten the crank journals and bearings. I took it all to work bit by bit and had the necessary parts machined and ground. I stripped and cleaned the heads, polishing the ports and valves and painted the engine Aluminum silver. Then I ordered and paid for a full rebuild kit from a supplier in the US who I had used before and is supposed to be a reputable company that has been specializing on Chrysler parts since 194-something and never received the parts. At this point I had no more $$$ in the kitty for the car

. After a bit of saving Reel Steel came to the rescue with all the required parts. Any way, got it all back together and after a few teething problems and a new pair of front Tyre's (the old ones had perished where it had been standing too long) it's back on the road. Paint has suffered from standing and it really could do with a re-spray now but that will have to wait (thinking of going back to B5 blue
