Well i've scanned it and it does seem that common sense is being used!

"Any changes to vehicles should be done in a competent manner and subject to good engineering practice"
Phrases like that suggest to me that my cynicism may be unfounded and they're not trying to homogenise us all into driving anonymous tin euroboxes.
In fact the whole document smacks of a common-sense approach by the examiner. Weird
The only thing i think the Belve will fail on is noise- i couldn't find an actual figure mentioned but it's measured indoors, 500mm from the tailpipe at 3/4 of max engine power- that's 4,500rpm   :help:

Why would you have to SVA a vehicle that old?

That made me giggle. Try defining that in an objectively measurable way. What on earth does 'good engineering practice' mean?

Hmm, seems i've been worrying about the wrong thing... :?

So if i have a 40 year old vehicle, not registered in the UK, imported about 5 years ago (not by me), non-standard engine, axle, steering, suspension, chassis, cage, manual changed to auto....

What the hell SHOULD i be worrying about
