Who does the best Carpet?

Post by vipergts »

Think I need to replace the carpet in the 68 Charger since the rest of the car is new.

Anyone recommend a good quality supplier?

Many thanks

Are you looking for a UK supplier? Legendary interiors in the US are pretty good, Year One sell their stuff. However there is a much cheaper supplier of Year One products, www.dantesparts.com. I bought a vinyl roof from them and Ivor bought the entire interior for his Runner from them.

:iagree: I got mine from YEAR-ONE and it was a good fit but you have to leave it out flat in a hot place for a week or two so that all the folds come out   and use your old one as a template, DONT FORGET that your old one will have shrunk ;)

Thanks guys.

I've used year one for lots of bits ibc the carpet for the 69 but not fitted.

Wasn't sure whether their stuff was the best.

Dantesparts supply Legendary who supply Year One or have I got that wrong.

Many Thanks

No, Legendary supply Year One and Dantes Parts with the same stuff as far as I'm aware.

Correct.
ACC also have a good reputation for carpet, many of the major vendors sell their stuff too.

If you REALLY want the best, Dave from ECS (he has that 'gold standard' white/blue Challenger mentioned in another thread) has just made available flat packed moulded carpet - i.e no folds. No doubt not required by most of us, but if you really want it right!

Sorry I'm a bit daft with carpet matters amongst other things.

Whats flat packed carpet.......surely that wouldn't be moulded if it was flat?

This stuff is available through ECS?

Lee,

I got mine from Year One, but it wasnt in a Y1 box so I can only assume it was a 3rd party supplier via Y1. I got the 80/20 loop stuff in burnt orange and am very very pleased with it. I assume you are going for black?

Go to Y1 fella - its easy and they are reliable.

Ask Sixpack Speedshop for a price. They import all this sort of stuff in bulk. It will be the same as what legendary/Year One etc sell.

There you go - this will tell you all you need to know about the "flat" carpet.

BTW - ACC used to supply both Y1 and Legendary. Not sure if they only sold ACC, or whther that has changed. (they may do Trimparts as well), but Y1 do not make their own and Leg certainly did not used to...don't know if that changed?

Hi Lee, this may be the $64,000 question but, have you any idea yet when your car will be leaving JC's?

I'd like to see it in its final stages but prob wont get there till some time in the new year. Do you think it'll still be there in January?

Silly question maybe but i dunno how much is left to do....
