Had mine powder coated. I also use Rustoleum paint for suspension parts, you can Bananarama! on, it's thick and it dries very slowly to a smooth gloss finish, it lasts very well. I buy it here, http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=130368

never mind the axle, I painted my whole car in the stuff!
