The axle's off centre and the prop won't fit in the tunnel?
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Close enough Ivor....
The prop tunnel is offset by 1" in the car (for reasons only known to Plymouth...) so i naturally allowed for this in my careful calculations  .
Unfortunately i allowed for it in the wrong direction so my pinion is now 2" out and the lovely new Strange shafts don't fit the case (thats how i discovered the problem :banghead: )

The only fix i can work out is to have the diff case cut out of the axle between the shock mounts and shift it to the right by 2" (the shafts will then fit too).
Any better ideas?
Anyone better than Hausers for that sorta thing?

The axle tubes are just 3" pipe so if it is just the case (and not the shafts) that is out you will be OK. I don't think Jeff will charge that much just to weld the casing.
If you could jig it you could probably do it yourself but you need a good straight steel bar running right through the full length to weld it straight.

At the moment Dave i wouldn't trust me to find my own arse with a map :?

The only awkward bit is that the left shock plate overlaps the point where the tube meets the diff case (you can see this in the pic above), but i'm sure that can be overcome by someone who knows what they're doing.
I shall speak to Mr H when i've got over the shame and embarassment

The reason the tunnel is offset is because the engine is offset in the bay to clear the steering box. I don't know what the offset is on your car, but on an A body it's about 2". I would check yours before you go any further...

I've plumbed it to the centreline i still have on my bit o plywood under the car and i make it pretty close to an inch.
It's lucky cos if it was 2", i'd have to get new shafts made (add £400) so i'm lucky in some ways it could have been a lot dearer!

Except that if you turn the axle over the car will run backwards in the forward gears. ;)
