Tough call on the roof I've just gone back and looked at the photos at the start of the thread and can't decide. Maybe you could bury a new roof in the garden for a couple of weeks before you put it on!

New vinyl roof, iron fillings on it the let them go rusty and stain the material, blow / brush them off, job done IMO

Engine came out tonight and Tim has nearly finished all of the roof repairs. More pics shortly.

As the driver side trunk gutter rail had the original VIN on and the car is numbers matching, I got Tim to snip out the original stamping (which wasn't rusty - see original green paint) and splice it into the new gutter panel. Here's what I mean:

Note the three rusty patched holes on the green bootlid - those were bulet holes from the inside out (!). Mmmm, maybe this was a real Moonshine mobile. The other hole is where the guy I bought it off locked his keys in the boot just as the lorry arrived to collect it and take it to the docks. They couldn't get into the boot so they tin snipped open an access hole
