Which paint for brake drums?

Anyone done this with long lasting success?
Did you use VHT paint/ Smoothrite/ cheap chassis paint/ etc?
No-one will believe you...

I used Halfords aerosol jet black 4 years ago,not shifted yet. Also I use Dulux satin black for chassis parts,it stays on.

I'll slap some chassis paint on, i've found that a hot air gun won't shift it so it must have a fair bit of heat resistance anyway :thumbright:
No-one will believe you...

As with any coating, the success is amost totally dependent on the quality of preparation. I had my ex manifolds coated with the high temp cast iron paint, but I had them shot blasted, thoroughly cleaned, painted and baked all as part of the same job so they were exposed to atmosphere for a matter of minutes in the bare condition. They had lots of very fine coats before being baked at about 300 deg C.
