Timing Chain problem - Help!

Post by Anonymous »

I have just fitted a cloyes double roller timing chain to a small block (replacing factory fitted item). I'm having a problem with the oil slinger cup washer. When fitted the right way round (according to the books) ie. cup facing block, the washer touches the chain. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcomed...... :(

Cup is away from the Chain on SB's and BB's.

Thank goodness for that - I don't have to dismantle it all now. Just goes to show that you shouldn't read manuals after you've assembled something! I wonder how many other things in the book are wrong..............?
Thanks a lot fellas

Well that was a good guess on my part too then \:D/

Thought it looked odd the other way round so I turned it round.
