Didn't know where to put this, here will do.
Has anybody ever had ball joints redone/repaired and if so where?
I'm asking as my ram has failed it's mot on 2 ball joints, one attaches to the pitman arm and is around ?50 the other is the panhard rod for the front axle and in typical american fashion it's all part of the rod
The rod is 4ft long and has a fair sized bend in it to clear the front cover of the diff so that rules out making one which wouldn't be difficult if it was straight.
My guess is these 2 bits will come into the uk at around ?300 i've got to get these joints but it seems a shame to throw the rod in the bin just for a ball joint.
My thoughts on certainly the rod is remove the cap (which is welded on)
take the ball out and have a look see, there will probably be a spring in there tensioning the outer cup against the top of the ball, then either increase the spring rate or fit a threaded adjuster.
Or am I just being tight
