inner wheel arch access covers

Has anyone had to make new covers for the inner wheel arch access holes to the UCA bolts if so i would appreciate some advice on what material you used to make the new ones

Yeah, I made one, in steel just like the originals

the ones in front of the UCA is steel on mine but the rear where the brake lines come through are a rubberized material and its those ones i need to replace

before these were repoped , years ago thought a bout finding a car interior foot well mat , that has no pattern , cutting it to shape , or rubber type damp proof membrain !! , or a very thin rally car type mud flap cut to shape .. thinking of this stuff , before you lot think i had lost the plot :tongue3: remember when i was thinking this it was late 89 early 90s , nothing like that was available , no point now if you can get them :thumbright:

:? Your brake lines shouldnt come through there mate. They should duck under the frame rails and clip into a bracket at the flexi-hose union?

there are 2 types of right hand side front brake lines , one that goes as you say Clivey :thumbright: & one that goes through rubber splash shield
think only 68 & 69 cars like this

OK, yes the rear ones are rubber, I think a kind of fibre-reinforced rubber. It would be very easy to make out of sheet rubber. But you'd still need the clips that hold it on, so I suspect it would be as easy/cheap to buy the repo with the clips.

they where on my car with the clip but when i took them off they where so fragile the fell apart so i need to replace them buy the weekend and i need to get some rubber and make new ones

yep thats it Gavin :thumbright: your right fiber reinforced rubber ... i remember now ..re pops are not like that though :( :roll:
