1959 POPULAR 100E REG:4278 AR has just been stolen

Post by dustymopar »

Probably of no interest here, but seems to be the right thing to do......

As the title says,

I have just had an email from the 100E forum informing that Mark Welling's 100e was stolen from his driveway last saturday night
If anyone has any info please email Mark Welling (mwelling@talktalk.net) or contact Worthing police in West Sussex

Thanks

got to think if someone has stolen this car then its probably done to order because someone needs the parts, bloody annoying that someone thinks they can steal someone elses property because they want to/need the parts

I have a big problem when it comes to theft of either Cars or Work Tools

Both cost cash. Ya Car you enjoy when you are not working, and your tools you use so you can.......(if that makes sense :? )

That car is so nice, how on earth can the thieves break it?

They can't ring it, it's too recognisable and the parts are worth of fraction of the whole car, partucularly as it hasn't been robbed of its plate.

Hang 'em.

I hope that's found OK. I've seen this in the flesh and it's like new all over. Unless they're re making them now,the front wings alone are worth a fortune.

Ivor, I would agree with that, too recognisable to do anything other than break - I would have thought even that would raise suspicion?

Steve, Steel panels are pretty expensive, they where 20 years ago when I had my 1st one  Still, our current one will be treated to some GRP :thumbright:

I know what you mean about the parts I have just spent 4 months welding this up for my daughter, was going to buy panels but they are too expensive so had to fabricate everything. Worth it when she saw it though! :D

This is my Pal's :thumbright: Its got a Rover V8, and is a proper little pocket-rocket 8-) The Rover runs very well, although the Rover motor wouldn't be the 1st choice for ours

I do like that too  As this is my Daughters first motor so mods are out of the question at present, other than a 1500 motor a bit later on. Its my fault I did this one she saw It and fell in love with It sitting outside the breakers and the way I see It there was no gob hiding anything nasty mind you the whole thing was nasty to start with

I have a massive problem with this sort of stuff, but I have an even bigger problem with the lackadaisical manner in which this sort of crime is treated by the UK authorities. They almost sponsor it with their inaction.

So I moved to the rural Mid West, where this sort of thing doesn't really happen but when it does the Police come down hard!
