68 charger fuel sender

can anyone tell me if the fuel sender can be remove with out taking the fuel tank off the car.

Hi Anton, yes it can, just make sure the tank in not full.
Are we there yet dad ..... 10 to the gallon but worth it.

i,ve checked my fuel gauge and that seems fine so i need to check the sender and the earth link as i still cant get it to work.at least my heater is working now and i have all new locks and ignition switch so i can open all door and boot with one key now lovely

Derek do you know where the earth link is for the sender unit so i can clean it at the same time.

Earth link bypasses rubber hose off tank sender , i just drilled the corner of tank & installed a earth wire to chassis.

Found the problem with my fuel sender it is a hole in the float

You can get new ones on ebay

Or a plastic one from a S3 Land rover does the job. :thumbright:

Thanks for that. I saw Derek this afternoon and he mentioned a land rover one fitted but he didn't know the model. thanks for that

got a land rover fuel sender unit from the land rover orphanage and used the fuel float and now my fuel gage works lovely.
thanks for the help and advice
