As soon as the front Bananarama! the ramps, dump the clutch and the 5mph differential relative to the coach speed carried the Mini up the ramp, by which time the driver is in first allowing him to drive to the front. what do you guys think?
i think you're right, but as Dunc said probably not that fast, the stunt was done for real, no special fx or 'puters here. i bet the guy in the 3rd mini had the brownest trousers :thumbright:

"Gold cost about $39 per troy ounce in 1968 so four million dollars in gold bars would have weighed about 7000lb, requiring each of the three Minis to carry about 2300lb in addition to the driver and passenger. Since a 1968 Mini only weighs 1400lb, each of these diminutive vehicles would have had to carry over 1½ times its own weight in gold"

I reckon it was done at a slower speed as Dunc said. Rear brakes would need to be disconnected, heel and toe the gas and the brake as you hit the ramp, dip the clutch a bit as you release the brake and get back on the gas to go up the ramp, jobs a good 'un. You could also have the front brakes connected to a handbrake lever, that way you wouldn't need the fancy footwork, just very good coordination, even I could do that!

Here you go, Clivey. Argument settled. Sshhhh... Don't tell anyone!!!

Drivers at 75mph, bus at 50mph, massive empty unopened motorway, plenty of straightforward driving skill!

That coach is rumoured to be up the road from me in Chobham.
Been to where the lock-up is, but there was no way of looking through the windows to see if it was inside
