Propshaft fabricator

Hi Guys, I need a prop made out of 3" chromemoly tubing about 54" Long I've got the chromemoly weld-on driveshaft yokes so just need the tube and someone to tig the ends and balance, I have only had steel props made and the guy I use doesn't tig this is for my Brothers car and is on a very tight budget Andy Robinson wants about £250 can anyone do this or know someone in the South. Propshaft Services in Feltham Middx,

They only charged Steve (Allkiller) £65 shortened and balanced..
Not sure if they do Chrome Moly, but worth a try and not a million miles away Jim!

If that doesn't work out, Dave mac propshafts in Coventry are worth a call. Bit further north though.

You'd have to ask about materials tho.

Got to get mine shortened and rebalanced as well, think i bent it when i blow up my last diff.

Am getting Jeff hauser to do it as he supplied it.

No, me Brother found a place to do one in chrome molly but they didn't recommend it as can shatter, so we may buy some steel yoke ends and make it out of steel and sell on the chrome molly ones.

Chrome molly shatters ?

That's a new one on me, if they were a doctor, I would want a 2nd opinion

Nick got his Prop back today, didn't go for the Chrome molly yoke ends in the end he decided to go for steel and 3 1/2" diameter tube all looks pretty good and it fits :thumbright:so the yoke ends will be in the for sale section soon.

We supplied the trans yoke, diff yoke and both the spicer UJ's they supplied both weld in yokes for 3 1/2" tube and made and balanced prop for just over £200 I'll have to ask brov for exact price.

thats some cost then jim, could end up as much as a transmission

Too true Dunc, not my money though, he will be needing a proper gearbox soon, looking for a 1970 onwards 727 have you got one?
