Hi all. Have been loking found the Satellite today (before it started to snowing ) and it has started to blister int the usual B bod places so I think the time to re-paint is coming upon us. Although it gets a lot of fun reactions stickered up like the General Lee it is a bit naff and needs to be changed. Trouble is, I don't know where to go with the colour scheme? I have thought putting it back to B5 blue (original colour) but that would be a little plain and boring. Anyone got any suggestions for a cool paint job? Jo bought me this today as a suggestion which is cool.
Not sure I'd have Taxi on the door though, That's Kev's torch to carry.
Probably do it myself. Have had a go at spraying a few bits lately and had good results so I'm gonna have a go at stripping and doing a whole car. Probably wont happen till the end of the year as I have been without it for too long due to motor build But I am going to start stock piling materials and paint now to spread out the cost.
Fair play to you Stu, that's a big old car to be attempting your first full spray job on. I have to agree with you that B5 blue is not the most exciting colour in the world, unless you do something to set it off, like the black stripes on Ivors Roadrunner. What colour is the interior by the way ? Do you have a preference for either solid or metallic colours ?
It's not that bigger job really. Once I've stripped off the doors, bonnet, boot and wings, I have can do it in bits. T'will make it more manageable for a home Job. The interior is black. Not too fussed about metallic colours, I'm just after something that's not bland.
If you're going to spray it in sections then you are probably best off avoiding metallics like the plague as you could end up up with mismatched panels when you put it all back together again. Are you looking for something traditional or something a bit more individual ?
Now we can do it properly! No covering up paint with 30 coats of laquer, then see it all crack n craze! New paint tech. stops all that!
You can always go for a traditional colour, but with a twist! Some of the paints I stock...eg. Orange. I have them that have a pearl and flake mixed in. KAPOW in the sunlight!
And flakes you cannot see in the paint, Unless the sun hits!

Some cool pic's there, cheers Jeff. I dunno what to do now, there's too much there that I like , can't see the wood for the trees . I stick them in-front of Jo later, She's good with her art and is creative with colours, I'll see what she can come up with.
