Been in the back of my mind since we talked about it a while ago Dunc , thought with the motor idling leak down would'nt be a problem , seems to get worse when the lash maxes out when hot.

Yep.

These lifters have an oil hole all the way through & up to the lifter cup.

Set the lash to zero on int/ex on # 1 cylinder , primed motor & saw very little leak down compared to the other 14 lifters that were pi$$ing out oil , removed these two lifters & plugged one side of oil hole (gallery side) , installed lifters , set lash as before (.015/.017) , primed motor , the leakdown between lifter cup/PR was minimal due to the oil having to travel around lifter & into oil way up to cup , bearing in mind the lifter to lifter bore clearance is around .002".

The shanks on those 5mm alluminium rivets are just the job , no scoring to lifter when you machine em flat to the face of lifter body. ;)
