yeah but you (and probably most people on the board given the cars we drive) are not counted in my tirade ....JohnR wrote:not all us 4x4 owners trash lamp posts and traffic islands I drove the barracuda from Scotts house to home then to work the next morning to pick up the land rover then had to go all over the place to pick up our jcb drivers for snow clearing and was dashing around for three days doing other work related jobs that the pick up and lorry could not do why because I drive a 4x4 !!

if i was driving in snow and you happened to be coming the other way in any of your own or work vehicles I'd be really quite happy, infact we could both pull up safely and have a fag and a natter with no impact or issue. because you would be driving at an appropriate speed and making sure any change to velocity caused minimum loss of traction.
i.e not likely to slam on the brakes or accidentally floor the gas at the first loss of traction or speed up to a junction or roundabout and then wonder why you don't stop.
its the guys in first gear wheels spinning like they were doing 90 wrestling with the wheel who are the issue.
or the fellas who stop to contemplate what to do before they try to get that big hill...
there are reasonably safe ways to drive in snowy and icy conditions and they don't seem to know em because they have been kept safe by ABS traction control and 4 wheel drive since they day they passed their test.
and i guess the barracuda and the JCBs don't have any of them so you are well acquainted with the softly softly approach in hazardous conditions
