Friday was way windy and it was fun (not!) putting the tents up. Saturday was great but a big headwind knocked me times (Or so we thought

) Couldn't break out of the 14s. 14.03@94.85 14.13@93.60 14.04@94.93. Bit more timing and some more jet didn't seem to be working. The 60fts and mid times were near normal but I was losing 5mph and 1/2 a second. Last run produced a 13.91@95.60 so I at least hit the 13s. My front left wheel was getting loads of air, Blue observing that I was launching with the wheel up and stationary! A few people commented about how the car ran the whole Quarter leaning to the right, now I'm not the lightest racer at the track, but I'm far from the heaviest (No offence, Guy!). We had a guess at a leaky shock or one of the fronts not being on 90/10 setting since my front end rebuild. Jacked the car up back at the pits.....BROKEN SPRING PERCH

It had broken the welds and was allowing the axle tube to rotate on the drivers (right) side. A walk round the pits revealed no welders at the track. There were some offers of people going to get one. Thanks. Sunday saw me way hung over from over indulging in the old VodkaSkittles and Stella so rather than go through all the rigmarol of bodging it up I had a pleasant day sitting around and talking with chicks and chaps. Met 74DartSport. He has one sweet ride and being a youngster he is the future! Couldn't get him to bin off the power steering and air-con or fit some chassis connectors or maybe gut his interior

He's gonna throw it up the track at the Nats, so maybe the bug will bite then! Drove home at a steady rate, hit walking pace traffic for 10 miles on the M40. My fare, Mr Philth, was bursting for a leak and was pleased when we got on the M25 aiming for South Mimms services. The turn off comes up, lll, ll, cough splut, run out of fuel at l! Quick gas up from me spare can and we made it without Philth embarrassing himself! A fantastic weekend! (Despite my first race breakage

)
